The Grant entails a $10,000 USD (approximately £8,000 GBP) monthly budget, with a spend of $330 USD per day.

Things to remember

But it’s not as simple as it may sound. Here are some things to be aware of:

  • The ads you can make will be text-based, meaning there are no images and videos.
  • Your ads will appear on Google Search results pages, The ad position depends on how aggressive other businesses are bidding for the same Keywords you are advertising for.
  • All your campaigns must be keyword-targeted.
  • Your maximum cost-per-click (CPC) is $2,00 USD.
  • You receive $10,000 USD from Google that needs to be spent on AdWords advertising each month.

As you can gather, there is quite a bit of work to be done on a continuous basis. After being accepted for the Google Ad Grant, there are many rules to be followed in order to keep the Ad Grant. The challenge then is to have the creativity and expertise to get people to click on your ads and thereby actually spend the budget given.

It’s not as easy as it sounds, as for instance having a max CPC of  $2,00 USD limits you in your keyword choices. Here you would have to be creative with longer tail keywords with a lower CPC.
